In terms of gold the picture changes. It took about ten barrels of oil to buy an ounce of gold in 1971. Now, it takes 78 of them. Is oil too cheap? Is gold too expensive?

When the stock market goes up, for example. But when stocks go up faster than GDP, it merely shifts wealth from average households to the richest ones — those that own most of corporate America.

America’s big devaluation began in 1971…and is on-going. In gold terms, the dollar has lost 99.2% of its value. And it is being devalued — though not officially — everyday.

Tariffs never made any sense to us. Civilized prosperity is built on trade, not autonomy. The man who makes his own shoes, grows his own food, and builds his own automobile, is a very busy man.

We see machines that can do almost everything, physically and mentally, that a human can do. But with none of the sick days or bad attitudes that characterize our race.
