The idea of bitcoin might be completely foreign to you. But if you’re here then you’ve probably at least heard about it.
You might have heard about the incredible price gains it’s seen over the last seven years. You probably now know that bitcoin is worth double the price of physical gold (at the time of writing).
And now you’ve probably come to the realisation that bitcoin is something you must know more about. Good. You’re in the right place.
Big investors are prepared to pay so far over the odds so that they can avoid a lot of ‘crypto headaches’ that come from owning cryptocurrency directly. For them even with the inflated costs, many have deemed it an acceptable risk.
Here’s why I don’t think a quantum attack is an immediate threat. For starters, why destroy the value of bitcoin?
The bad news is that if you still don’t own bitcoin, you’ve missed some of the biggest returns on an asset class in the history of everything. Sorry. That’s just the lay of the land. That’s not to say the ride is over for bitcoin.
Before anyone starts on their journey into the crypto world, I tell them to clue up on the basics. To understand why it exists, where it comes from, what impact it had (has and will have) on the world. But to find the right information is hard.
Right now, we’re in stage one of a global banking shake-up. It’s marked by smartphone banks and tech-led specialists targeting specific banking niches like insurance and wealth management.
If you even half believe that crypto has a big future, then you need to be looking at how you can get a slice of this action. But you need to know how to do it in the right way.
