The ASX opened down this morning as the market awaits Michele Bullock’s first RBA meeting as governor. Rate decision due at 2.30pm while the Aussie dollar plunges to 11-month low. Global bond markets rose ~10 basis points overnight as bond market sell-offs continue.
ASX is set to start off the final quarter of the calendar year down, following a mixed session on Wall St as ‘high for longer’ looms large in traders’ minds. Tomorrow, we have the RBA meeting and US Fed Chairman J Powell speaking to the current market outlook.
